ADNEC Group has pledged to achieve net zero carbon operations by 2045, five years ahead of the UAE's national Net Zero 2050 target, and guided by our Decarbonisation Implementation Roadmap, developed in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and aligned with the UAE's Net Zero 2050 Strategic Initiative.
In 2025, ADNEC Centre Al Ain reached a major milestone in this journey: the venue now runs entirely on clean energy, powered by EWEC and verified through International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy. This positions ADNEC Centre Al Ain as another one of our venues that are fully powered by clean energy and amongst a few venues worldwide that are able to claim this accomplishment. Building on this milestone, we will soon assess rooftop solar PV integration, upon possible venue redevelopment, to extend upon the portfolio of ADNEC Group venues that are either fully or partially powered by clean or renewable energy.

ADNEC Group's Strategy & Sustainability team is supported by our ESG Committee and ESG Champions, and we're an active member of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week and the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group.
In 2025, ADNEC Group was recognised for its ESG and Sustainability Initiatives through receiving 15 ESG and Sustainability awards, including the UAE Year of Sustainability Seal and Majra’s UAE Impact Seal - Gold Tier for large companies

In addition to continuously working towards becoming a sustainable venue and building on previous sustainability initiatives, we run an annual 'Think Green' campaign which incorporates a community initiative named 'Stop and Donate', inviting visitors and staff to donate unwanted items for reuse or recycling in support of the Red Crescent.

The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group (ADSG) promotes sustainability management in Abu Dhabi by providing learning and knowledge sharing opportunities for government, private companies and not for profit organisations in a spirit of cooperation and open dialogue.
The ADNEC formally joined ADSG in 2012, and since then we have actively participated in a number of development workshops.
An Abu Dhabi government initiative, this ground-breaking global forum unites thought leaders, policy makers and investors to address the challenges of renewable energy and sustainable development.
ADNEC as a venue and services provider is proud to work closely with Masdar (the key owner of this event) to make ADSW and its World Future Energy Summit the largest gathering on sustainability in the Middle East and a significant forum in stimulating international dialogue and action.
ADNEC is a member of the UFI Sustainability Development Committee. The UFI Committee on Sustainable Development was formally established in 2008 to support UFI as it focuses on the issue of Sustainable Development in the Exhibition Industry.
ADNEC was one of six members who actively helped the UFI Sustainability Development Committee create the Sustainability Reporting Framework for the exhibition industry.
